Obituary for Glenn R. Maass

Glenn R. Maass passed away on November 9, 2022 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of his “Polish Bride” for almost 45 years, Gerrie (nee Kubisz). Loving father of Rick (Colette) and Pam (Jerry). Proud grandfather of Jacob, Lindsay (Jeffrey), Kyle (Lauren), Dustin (Murphy), and Gunnar. Great-grandfather of Kenneth, Arlo, Odette, and one on the way. Further survived by his brother-in-law David Kubisz, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Glenn was a proud graduate of the South Milwaukee High School class of 1951. During high school and beyond he worked for Baranek’s store in Carrolville. A job he was proud of as it was the family store. While in school he also worked for Nimphius Boat Company. After high school he worked at Allis Chalmers before starting a career with Kyle Corporation (which later became Eaton). He started in shipping before going into repairs, sales & marketing, and then became supervisor. He retired in 1987. His two happy places were with the South Milwaukee Lake and Woods Club and at “The Looney Bin,” their place on Loon Lake in Shawano. Glenn was “The Loon Ranger” while on the lake and would be responsible for reporting the activity of the lake loons as they arrived, lived, and left the lake. He enjoyed Friday morning breakfasts with “The Romeos” as they would solve the world’s problems.

A special thank you to his special niece Shelley Maglio for her devoted and loving care. The family would also like to thank Drs. Hudson, Baranek, and Liang; the nurses and staff at Willowcrest Care Center; and the staff with Great Lakes Hospice for their wonderful and unending care of Glenn.

Visitation at Molthen-Bell Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 9:00-11:00. Funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00.
