Obituary for Allison Phillips

Allison R. Phillips, 49, of Franklin, WI was called home on October 18, 2023, while surrounded by family and friends. Proud mother of Peyton Phillips, loving daughter of Thomas and Sharon Phillips and sister of the late Eric Phillips. Allison graduated from Franklin High School in 1992 and pursued her passion for the arts by attending UW-Parkside, graduating in 1999 with a BA in Drama/Theatre Arts.

After college, Allison moved to New York and then California, where she continued her passion for acting, while working at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Allison enjoyed working in the entertainment industry. Allison had a true entrepreneur’s mindset. She returned to Wisconsin in 2001, and a few years later opened a promotional products business, A & J Promotions. She also continued acting, taking part in numerous plays and commercials in the Metro-Milwaukee area.

Allison expanded her small business/entertainment/marketing ventures by working for the Milwaukee Wave, opening Hollywood Threadz, creating the Wisconsin Sports Group, Edge Marketing & Media, Edge Podcast Network, and the Wisconsin Podcast Association. Most recently, Allison worked for Eggers Imprints and CaliFino Tequila. When she wasn’t working, Allison enjoyed traveling, attending plays and concerts and spending time with her family and friends. Allison’s personality was contagious, as everyone was drawn to her.  She made friends everywhere she went and was always the life of the party (even after she would sneak out without telling anyone). Allison had a big heart and was generous to others, always helping where she could.

Allison gained the title of Mom on July 21, 2009, when her daughter, Peyton came into the world. This was the best “role” she ever played. The bond between Allison and Peyton was immeasurable. Peyton and Allison were inseparable and shared the same passion for theater, music and traveling. Allison especially enjoyed taking Peyton to New York and California, two places near and dear to her heart. The two were the best of friends, with identical personalities and the ability to make others laugh. Peyton, following in her mother’s footsteps, had her own podcast, Pey Pey the Podcaster.  She is a natural just like her mom.

In July 2020 after several months of doctor appointments, tests and procedures, Allison was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Allison decided to not only fight her cancer, but also wanted to help others fighting cancer and other medical issues. She and her brother Eric came up with an idea to create a charity, Live4Today. In December 2021, Allison lost her best friend and big brother, Eric to cancer. Allison decided it was time to make the dream she and her brother talked about a reality by becoming the Founder and CEO of Live4Today, a charity designed to help individuals and families battling cancer. Live4Today has helped numerous people and families live out their “dreams”.

Thank you to all of Allison’s friends and family that supported her, Peyton and Live4Today. A special thank you to Allison’s doctors at St. Luke's Hospital, the Oncology 12th floor, especially the “12S nurses” who took exceptional care of Allison over the months she was in the hospital.  Allison considered them family. The family also thanks Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their compassion and care of Allison. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6, 2024, to honor Allison, share loving memories and celebrate her 50th birthday. In lieu of flowers, a college fund is being established for Peyton. Details to follow in the coming weeks.
