Obituary for Elizabeth Kathryn "Betty" Arkowski

Elizabeth "Betty" Kathryn Arkowski. Beloved Matriarch of our family passed peacefully to eternal life on September 15, 2020 to join her late husband Anthony Arkowski and son-in- law Kenneth Rome. Loving mother to Sharon Rome (late Kenneth) , Barbara Arkowski, Dennis (Marilyn) Arkowski. Grandmother to Aaron (Kim) Rome, Eric (Lisa) Arkowski and Sarah Arkowski. Great grandmother to Abigail Rome, Maxwell Rome, Aiden Rome, Lauren Rome, Joshua Arkowski, Benjamin Arkowski.

Betty worked at Louis Allis Corporation, South Milwaukee Junior High School, National Car Rental , and Zales Jewelry Store. She was a volunteer for 10+ years at General Mitchell Field information booth. She enjoyed meeting and greeting travelers, listening to their stories, and most of all helping them. She was an amazing woman, admired by many and adored by all. She was fun, energetic, kind and always up for a good time. She was the best spouse, mom, neighbor and friend anyone could ask for. Her hobbies were family, nature, helping others, cooking, exercise and caring for her faithful companion- her dog Benji. She was active in the TOPS organization for many years and was recognized as an outstanding volunteer at General Mitchell Field Airport

After losing both of her parents at an early age, Mom learned the value of hard work and developed a determined outlook, qualities which served her well for the rest of her life. She met Dad while working at Louis Allis and together they shared a loving life dedicated to each other and their family of three children. She will be missed immensely by her children grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations will be taken in Mom’s honor at Human Concern - South Milwaukee by visiting https://smhumanconcerns.org/donate or light a candle in mom’s honor.
