Obituary for Gerald A. Joers

Joers, Gerald “Jerry” A.

Age 68, passed away due to complications of Huntington’s Disease with his family by his side on December 14, 2017. Loving and beloved husband of Joanne (Nee Horton). Proud and devoted dad of Matthew (Misty).Adoring grampa of Mason. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, brother, Eugene (Patti) and sister, Laura Schmitt, mother-in-law, Henrietta Horton, brother-in-law, Ronald (Christine) Horton, sister-in-law, Margaret (Jeffrey) Krawczyk, Godmother, Gladys Ebertowski and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Grace, father-in-law, Walter and other beloved family who wait to welcome him home.

Proud veteran of the U.S Navy Submarine Service and passionate volunteer at Discovery World especially for the S/V Denis Sullivan.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Silverado, Brookfield and Hometown Hospice, for kind and compassionate care and to his allies in his battle against HD, Drs. Robert Brueggeman, Karen Blindauer and Sussy King.
Memorial visitation held Friday December 22, 2017 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America or Friends of S/V Denis Sullivan are suggested.
